Construction Update

In just a few short weeks the new addition to J. Major's will be completed. The new addition will house our bridesmaid collection along with new collections for special occasions and mothers of. Here are some pictures from the past few weeks following the construction:

Hitched or Ditched on the CW

Set your TiVo! J. Major's Bridal Boutique will be featured on Tuesday night's episode of Hitched or Ditched on the CW Network. J. Major's helped fashion El Lana for her big day. El Lana chose a beautiful gown by Priscilla of Boston.

North Carolina couple El Lana, 29, and Torrino, 35, have been dating for ten years, but resistance to their interracial relationship has brought their fun loving partnership to a standstill.

When Torrino's best friend presents the couple with a surprise invitation to their own wedding, El Lana, a waitress, struggles to convince Torrino’s family that she is a capable bride, while Torrino, a retail salesman, has a hard time choosing between his family and the woman he loves.

While a storm threatens to keep El Lana's family from the ceremony, and Torrino's mother lashes out at El Lana with a racial slur. There are five days until the wedding: will they be HITCHED OR DITCHED? www.cwtv.com

Fall Trunk Show Dates

Our Fall Trunk Show schedule has just been finalized and we are excited about the line up! During trunk shows designers send anywhere from 15-30 additional gowns to the store for brides to try on. These gowns may be part of the newest collection, best sellers or bride requests. During trunk shows discounts will be offered on the featured designer's gowns as well as on veils and accessories. 36 Years Ago...

Priscilla of Boston has been a force in the industry since 1945, designing for daughters of presidents (Johnson and Nixon), royalty (Grace Kelly), and millions of brides around the world. We recently got a first-hand look at a great vintage Priscilla gown and just had to share!

How cool is this? Working together with Shea Nichole Designs, we're creating a custom sash and veil for one of our brides due to be married in October. She and her mom brought Mom's wedding gown in and we just couldn't believe it when we saw the original shipping box in which the gown was still stored. Check out the pictures, showing Mom's gown with the box, as well as some of our modern Priscilla designs and a new shipping box. Priscilla of Boston still operates from the same address in Charlestown, Massachusetts!

We're Expanding!

We are so excited to announce that J. Major's is gaining some much needed space. We are in the process of up-fitting an additional 1300 square feet from the vacant space right next door to our existing boutique. By July, this new space will be home to our bridesmaid, mother, and flower girl collections. Our current space will remain unchanged, with the exception of an archway opening to our expansin, and more room for our brides to enjoy choosing the dress of their dreams! Follow with us over the next few weeks as the existing space is transformed into a fabulous boutique!
